This style of binding originally came from China. As Chinese traditionally use brushes with ink to write on fine rice paper, double folded pages will absorb the ink better.

Recently, I thought to use recycled materials to make good quality small note books people can use daily, and I think this style of binding is perfect for my new idea.

All the paper I have used in these soft cover notebooks is one-sided printed office waste. Each sheet has been hand trimmed, folded and sewn together. All the cover materials are natural fibre: cotton, silk, flax... and they are taken from my off cuts bin to be reused.

The size is 148mm x 105mm, it is ideal a small gift and the book has soft cover, so it is light and easy to carry in your bag.
